Description

Resource Description

In order for our neurodivergent students to be able to effectively self-advocate for their needs, and fully embrace themselves, they need to be aware of their unique differences.

This boom deck teaches 5 common communication style differences, between neurodivergent and neurotypical people in a neurodiversity-affirming way.

- Small Talk vs. "Info-Dumping"

- Eye Contact Preferences

- Understanding Indirect Language (sarcasm)

- Understanding Body Language

- Use of AAC

This is NOT a social skills curriculum. This does NOT teach masking. It is created to lead an interactive conversation with all of our students, to foster self-understanding and acceptance.
