What educators are saying

Reading BINGO is a hit in my classroom! I have students who want to fill the whole board or students who want to just do a few boxes of their choice, but regardless of how they approach each board, this resource is getting my students reading at home!
My students and I love this. I've had a few parents that didn't like it so much. I just told them to practice for the required time & then cross off a box.

    Description

Are you sick of the Nightly Reading Log Battle? This bundle includes both my Nightly Reading BINGO and my Nightly Math Fact Practice BINGO products...kids and parents will thank you!

    Nightly Reading BINGO:

This product takes the place of a traditional reading log and is perfect for students to track their nightly reading in a fun way. These BINGO boards include silent reading options, as well as read aloud options to promote better oral fluency. Students will read in a different way for 24 nights out of the month, completing the BINGO board. They will cross off each box as they complete it.

This product includes 10 different BINGO boards for months September-June. It also includes the same 10 boards with "blank" months so that you can write in your own months. Each board also has the option of writing in the amount of minutes you would like your students to read each night.

    -10 monthly BINGO Boards

-10 BINGO boards with blank months/minutes

-10 monthly BINGO boards with some blank spaces for students to add their own

In my classroom, I was getting tired of the nightly reading log battle. For years I had passed out a weekly reading log and required students to read each night for 15 minutes, only to have my most struggling readers quickly fill it out the day it was due. I went back and forth between doing the basic “Title, Author, Date, Pages Read” and requiring students to complete a written response of some sort. After thinking about the purpose of assigning a reading log, I decided that my purpose was to make nightly reading an enjoyable and productive experience for my of students.

At the beginning of the month, I tape a new monthly BINGO sheet inside the front cover of my students’ homework agenda (a homework folder would work too). Then I collect it at the end of the month. While I understand that students could still

just cross off the different boxes and submit it, I hear them come in to school telling their friends that they “read in the bathtub” or “read to Gramma’s poodle.” That is my goal.

    Nightly Math Fact Practice BINGO

This product is perfect for students to practice their math facts in a fun way. These BINGO boards include many options to promote improved fact fluency and motivation! You can choose how many nights per month you would like your students to practice their facts, as well as how long each night. Students will choose tasks to complete and they will cross off each box as they complete it.

This product includes 10 different BINGO boards for months September-June. It also includes the same 10 boards with "blank" months so that you can write in your own months. Each board also has the option of writing in the amount of minutes you would like your students to read each night.

    math fact practice ideas

-Multiplication, addition, and subtraction mini flashcards (for print and go home

    practice)

In my classroom, I was getting tired of begging reminding my students to practice their math facts. For years in third grade, I stressed the importance of practicing math facts at night for 5-10 mins each night. Almost every year I would have a handful of students who would master their math facts because they were either “good at math” or competitive with others on the fact power tests given on a regular basis. The rest of the class would slowly increase their fact mastery, but many of my students ended up at a stand still and frustrated. I wanted to find a way to make fact practice a part of their nightly routines, but I wanted to make it fun!

At the beginning of the month, I tape a new monthly BINGO sheet inside the front cover of my students’ homework agenda (a homework folder would work too). Then I collect it at the end of the month. While I understand that students could still just cross off the different boxes and submit it, I hear them come into school telling their friends that they “practiced their math facts in a tree” or “created a math game and played with their sister.” I hope that you find this product to be a solution to the fact practice battle. I modeled this after my Nightly Reading BINGO product that has been so successful for my students.
