Description
This is such a fun way to get your class engaged with kitchen safety. This is a group project that I allowed for 3-4 in, but is up for teacher discretion. I completed this project with my grade 12's in Food and Nutrition but have made the project friendly for younger years as well.
This is meant to be a fun tour. Think of it as a ‘Welcome to my Crib’ MTV style video but for kitchen safety. I was so impressed by the level of creativity and even humor that my students added to a traditionally important but dull topic.
Includes:
- Directions for teachers
- Instruction page for students
- 2 graphic organizers (1 with examples filled out)
- Rubric for easy marking
Possible adaptations:
- This can be used with individuals that are homeschooling by making the tour simply around their personal kitchen.
- My class did this as a video assignment, but if you do not have access to video equipment, it can be created as a dramatic presentation instead!
