What educators are saying

Fun and engaging activity used in the fall for kids to get to know each other and find their similarities. Cute graphics and font.
This resource was great for introducing opinion writing to my students. Due to COVID, my kids hadn't received much instruction on opinion writing and the this or that concept made it easier for my students to begin understanding that we don't have to have the same opinions on topics.

Description

These QUICK WRITES are great exercises for primary children learning how to think through, share, and defend their own personal OPINIONS on a variety of topics, including sports, entertainment, food, animals, character traits, and more.

Because the templates are OPEN-ENDED, they allow for any child to respond at his or her own developmental level.

Three template formats are included in this set:

  • one with picture prompts
  • one inviting the child to draw
  • one with multiple choices

The quick writes work well:

  • as morning work
  • as a short writing exercise before writing workshop (a warm-up)
  • in writing centers
  • as homework
  • for informal assessments

See the PREVIEW for sample pages and formats.
