What educators are saying

My first graders loved doing this activity during small group time. I loved that it was multi-sensory and allowed the kids to move while reading.

    Description

These movement brain breaks will help your children get their wiggles out and practice much needed skills all while maintaining their own space. In addition, they will explore different animal habitats. In this set, children will explore different habitats and holidays and practice FIRST GRADE CCSS PHONICS DECODING STRATEGIES. It includes the alphabet, cvc words, digraphs, blends, diphthongs, word endings and more. Have your students say the letter or have them say the letter sound. You can also simply screen share the slides or project them in the classroom. Move at the teacher's pace by advancing slides when ready. This super fun and engaging game will have your students begging for more. This activity has a link on page 3 of the pdf that will take you to the Google Slides version. If you need a Power Point version, just download the Google Slides as a PPTT. You can also project the pdf. By purchasing the bundle, you are saving over 40% off. This is a growing bundle and I will continue to add more skills.

    How to Play:

    1. Project the slides

    2. Practice the animal movements

    3. Begin the activity. If the screen shows a word or a mathematical problem, students say the word or answer. If the screen shows an animal, they do the movement practiced.

    4. When all slides are covered, play again or end the activity.
