What educators are saying

I gave this to my students for review after a week's lesson about parts of a book. It was a great way to review and practice as well as assess what they learned!
Loved this resource for teaching about the parts of a book in my self contained special education classroom!

Description

In this Parts of a Book set you will find 16 worksheets and 2 sets of vocabulary cards that cover the basics of print and the names of parts of a book. They also cover who an author and illustrator are and what their job is in making a book.

Use these resources to reinforce and follow-up on the lessons you teach and model about the parts of a book. Kids will be enchanted with the fun pictures on the worksheets and the common sense of how a book works. Little did they know that each part of a book has a name!

The 16 worksheets cover the following topics:

--- Front Cover

--- Back Cover

--- Spine

--- Title

--- Picture / Illustration

--- Author’s Name

--- Illustrator’s Name

--- Illustrator’s Job

These worksheets include:

--- Informational pages

--- Pages to color

--- Cut and glue

--- Trace and write

--- Circle the item

The two sets of vocabulary cards:

--- Should be printed on card stock to make them last longer

--- Cover 11 vocabulary words (above)

--- Include one plain black and white set

--- Include one color set with illustrations
