What educators are saying

My students liked this assignment because they were learning about heredity issues they've never heard of. It kept them engaged and opened up more discussions.
My students found this very helpful in giving them a better understanding with pedigrees and it helped that they were interesting disorders that they didn't know a lot about because they saw exactly how genetics passed things down through a family.

Description

Answer key to free worksheet available at: https://www.biologycorner.com/worksheets/pedigrees-practice-b.html

Students examine pedigree charts and determine the genotypes of members of the family. Pedigrees look at autosomal dominant traits, like dwarfism, and recessive traits, like sickle cell anemia. Some groups of students may need more help than others with this task. This one was designed for an introductory biology class, there is also a pedigree practice for AP Biology.
