Teach your students all about penguins with this mini-unit that includes 10+ Penguin Activities & Resources!

From a penguin science experiment to craft, there are a variety of activities your kids can use to learn all about the life cycle and parts of a penguin.

What's Included:

  • Penguin Life Cycle Diagrams - The diagram shows the four steps in a penguin’s life cycle. There is also a set of labels that your students can use to label the life cycle of a penguin which is a fun activity during your whole group instruction time.
  • Penguin Life Cycle & Vocabulary Posters - These posters can be hung up in your classroom and used as a reference for your students. One set of the posters includes photographs of penguins.
  • Penguin Life Cycle Diagram Worksheet - After learning about the steps of a penguin’s life cycle, your students will color and cut the pictures of the penguin out. They will then glue them in the correct order on the diagram and label each step.
  • Penguin Interactive Notebook Page - This is a page that can be included in an interactive notebook or science journal. For this activity, students will match the life cycle pictures to the names and glue them under the flaps.
  • Penguin Life Cycle Crown - Your students can create a crown to wear to show everyone that they have learned all about the life cycle of a penguin.
  • Penguin Life Cycle Reader - Your students can read all about the life cycle of a penguin in this black and white printable reader. Simply, cut the pages apart, stack them together, and staple. There are two different leveled readers to easily differentiate.
  • Parts of a Penguin Diagrams - The diagram shows the parts of a penguin (eyes, beak, flippers, webbed feet, and feathers.) There is also a set of labels that your students can use to label the parts of a penguin.
  • Label a Penguin Worksheet - After learning all about the parts of a penguin, your students can cut and glue the parts on their own diagram worksheet.
  • Penguin Can-Have-Are Chart - After learning all about penguins, your students can complete the can, have, are chart. There is a cut and glue version and a fill in the blank version included.
  • Penguin Science Experiment - How do penguins stay warm in the cold waters of the Antarctica? This Penguin Feather STEM Experiment will show you how these birds stay dry.
  • Penguin Facts Craft - This craft and writing activity is a creative way for your students to show what they learned about penguins.
