What educators are saying

I use this game when we study the instrument families. Great musical work and fun activity for the kids.
This was a great addition to my Peter and the Wolf unit. Wonderful visuals and my students loved the game!

Description

One of my students' favorite Peter and the Wolf activities! This freeze game is a fun large group game that can be used for subs or assemblies. This awesome game (Smart Board activities or printable flashcards!) is great for a brain break in an assembly or as a movement activity for a double class when there aren't any subs!

Project the game slides on your Smart Board or print the flashcards.

It takes very little space to play and is an absolute hoot! Add it to your sub tub for instant fun!

My students beg for "that freeze game" and "the 3-2-1 freeze game" every single game day!

This game set includes flashcards, a version of the game to project on a whiteboard or screen, plus game instructions, directions for each pose, and teaching suggestions.

This is a game that can be taught by any teacher - no prior musical knowledge is needed.

If you are a music teacher, there is a suggested instrumentation that can be used during class or assemblies, but is optional for game play. I have also included directions for how to use these cards as a meter improvisation extension activity.

If you like Reindeer Christmas Tree Candy Cane Freeze, you'll love this Peter and the Wolf-themed freeze game! It's perfect for subs and more!

Special Note: This is not a freeze dance; it is a freeze game. It has been described as a group "Rock-Paper-Scissors" type game. No additional recordings are needed.

COVID-19 Note: All these freeze games can be played without singing (with or without a chant), and are non-touching and non-locomotor. This game can be played virtually as well! (Have students step away from the camera when they are "out.")
