Description

Are you tired of searching for phonics books that are actually aligned with the Science of Readng? This collection includes over 50 decodable phonics books for your growing readers! These no prep, one page focused and explicit mini books are perfect for phonics practice and phonics lessons, reading intervention, take-home books, book bins and independent reading time, and more!

As you progress through your phonics lessons and instruction this year, students can use the mini books to practice their decoding and fluency skills.

These phonics books were created to help students learn how to decode words and practice the phonics skills you are teaching in your classroom!

Each one-page phonics book focuses on a specific phonics skill. Each book consists of a word list, a list of sentences, and a very short passage or story. Simply print, fold, and start reading! Students will read the words, read the sentences, and read the story in each book.

These phonics books provide practice, reteaching, review, and additional exposure to the phonics pattern you are working on. These phonics books will help you as you provide systematic and explicit decoding practice during your school year, which aligns with the Science of Reading research!

➡️  What Grade Level Was This Designed For?

As reading teachers, we often have readers of many levels that will enter our classrooms each year. While a kindergarten teacher may primarily be focusing on short vowels, they may have kindergarten readers who are ready to decode sneaky e words during the second half of the year.

First and second grade teachers will find this bundle extremely valuable due to the wide range of phonics skills and patterns that are included for below, on-grade level, and above grade level readers. By having mini books for such a wide range of phonics skills, you will be able to differentiate and cater to each reader's individual and small group needs!

➡️  How Should I Prep these Mini Books?

Simply print and fold! I teach my students how to fold their own mini books at the beginning of the school year. You can print these booklets on colored paper OR on white paper so that students can color, circle, or highlight the phonics pattern before or as they read! There are SO many ways to use these booklets!

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I used this with my small group. After going over the skill and doing word chains we accompanied this book with it. It's just enough phonics to it, yet not overwhelming. Kept them engaged during small group. I like how it helped me focus on a phonics skill, allowed them practice with skill, and reading to incorporate the skill:)”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I wish I could give this 10 stars!! I love it! My students love it!! It's very comprehensive and helps scaffold the learning! It has words, sentences, and passages all in one!! It has really helped my students lock in these skills!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “These are so amazing! Super little prep and my students love having their own little book to take home and show off their skills to their families. I use them in small group and am able to differentiate based on mastery because this has all the phonics skills. Such a great resource and value.”
