What educators are saying

So excited to add this to our morning routine. Such a great resource for teaching the parts of a sentence and to help students with their writing skills. Love the themed sentences as well.
Absolutely love these! My grade 3 FSL students use them for morning work. Great quick grammar practise and uses thematic vocabulary.

    Description

These sentences are a perfect way to practice French grammar daily in your classroom. Different sentences each day with the same prompts all month long allows students to become familiar with what they are looking for in the sentence and practice the skill over and over. Great for grammar and vocabulary!

These are the student WORKBOOK versions of the Phrase du jour line. Check out the projectable version HERE.

You can choose to follow this in order or do each sentence on the date it falls on. An answer key is also provided.

Each month features 30-31 sentences (one for each day) that relate to a theme that month.

For each sentence, students need to do 3 things that relate to grammar*

    Some examples:

    - unscramble the sentence

    - identify the verb(s)

    - identify the subject

    - identify the common nouns

    - underline the composed sounds

    - underline the adjectives

    - change the underlined word(s) into a personal pronoun (il, elle, nous, vous, ils, elles)

    - underline the prepositions

    - identify the proper nouns

    *see each month for specifics

Note: The sentences do get longer as the year goes on as students become better at solving sentences and develop their vocabulary.

NOTE: These sentences are aimed at students in grade 2 and above, level dependent. They are NOT recommended for grade 1 students as they need a good understanding of vocabulary, context, sentence structure and grammatical concepts.
