What educators are saying

I was looking for a way to engage a low 9th grade class with poetry. I wanted to start with music to "hook" them and this unit has proven to be the perfect way! I hope you create more for the future with even more songs. Thank you!

Description

Use songs as a bridge to analyzing traditional poetry. Start with the bonus figurative language activities, then teach the 8 Steps for Annotating Songs as Poems, and finally move to analyzing 5 full songs as poems.
