Description

This product includes a complete 3-5 day lesson plan to incorporate the fine arts into your poetry unit.

Students will practice finding figurative language, summarizing, close reading, annotating, repeated readings to build fluency, think critically, answer text dependent questions with evidence from a text, analyze complex poems, and create visual representations of stanzas through tableau drama.

In addition, students will find rhyme scheme, analyze metaphors, use context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words, and draw a picture that represents imagery used in a famous poem.

Students love to learn about and create a type of performing art called Tableau. Tableau is a type of drama where individuals create still life images that represent a story. Tableau is like creating a still life photograph.
