Description
Rikers Correctional Facility in NYC is one of the nation's most notorious prisons. This research project examines Rikers from several perspectives. Students get to see a glimpse inside Rikers, do some research on their own, and then propose some possible solutions to some of the incredibly complex problems facing not only Rikers, but all Corrections as well.
Ideal for HS Government or Civics. This can be used for middle school students, but the Instructor should exercise caution as some of the themes are for mature audiences.
