I have been using this system in my own classroom for over 12 years with my low-performing students, high-performing students and everyone else in between.
The result? A classroom climate that celebrates successes, encourages goal setting, embraces PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION and increased performance on my state end-of-course assessments!
How It Works:
This system includes a 5-step plan to monitoring progress throughout the school year. As a teacher, you will be able to assess how your students (as a whole) are progressing throughout your course and will be able to use this data to drive instruction. You will display this information on a stylish data wall (also included in the bundle) for all to see! Simultaneously, your students will take a series of 6 benchmark exams throughout the year and will track their progress on the included STUDENT DATA ANALYSIS PACKET. They will use this packet to assess where their "starting point" is and monitor their progress as they take these 6 benchmark exams. They will graph their own results and use this data to create a customized review & reinforcement plan that will provide them with that last BOOST before state/district end-of-course assessments.

An overview of the 5 Step Plan:
►Mindset and Classroom Climate
In this step, I will help you set up your classroom to create a climate of “goal setting” and “progress over perfection.”
►Benchmark Exams
I will provide you with 6 benchmark exams that cover the major topics covered in most high school biology courses. They are editable so that you can change/add/edit as needed. I have also included a print version as well as a self-grading, Google Forms version of each exam. Each benchmark exam includes an answer key.
►Student Directed Data Analysis
You will also receive a 6-page student data analysis packet that students will use throughout the course to track their progress, set goals, reflect on strengths and weaknesses, and plan a custom review strategy for their end-of-course assessment.
►Checkpoint Stations
After giving the 3rd benchmark exam, your students will complete checkpoint stations that will help remediate topics that have been taught and expose them to new concepts/topics that will be taught in the future. These checkpoints consists of 20 stations and include both a print and digital version.
►End of the Year Review
After giving the final benchmark exam, students will use the data that they have collected throughout the year to plan a customized review strategy for themselves. I will provide you with an end of course review activity that your students will use to reinforce concepts and review areas of weakness. This review activity comes in both a print and digital format.
