Description

Make your publishing parties and writing celebrations better than ever! Get everyone excited with this pack of door posters, invitations, wearable name/writer tags, compliment pages and a writing reflection sheet. The pack also includes 3 pages of publishing party troubleshooting ideas with ways that I have modified my celebrations over the past ten years teaching writing workshop.

Included are:

3 color posters to hang on your classroom door promoting the publishing party in your class that day. These include a place to write the time and place and will help build anticipation that a celebration is about to happen.

2 color posters to hang in the days/weeks leading up to the next writing celebration so that parents, administrators, students, etc. know when the next publishing event will take place. Build the hype!

2 styles of invitations to send home, to other classes, to special guests, etc. for the upcoming writing celebration. These include a place to add in the date, time and place. (See thumbnail example).

2 different styles of wearable tags for students to wear at the party. Help them feel extra special on the big day! (See thumbnail example). These can be pinned to kids shirts, laminated and put on yarn as reusable tags, glued on stand up cards at student desks or however you see fit.

3 styles of compliment pages to be used at the writing celebration. Adults and students can leave written feedback for the writer and help them remember just how great their writing is. Each style of compliment page comes in two forms - one with blank areas for feedback (see thumbnail example) and one with sentence starter prompts such as "You did a great job..."

3 pages of bullet pointed ideas to make your celebrations the best they can be. I have divided up the information with ways to troubleshoot common issues with publishing parties such as what you can do with students who read in quiet voices or what to do when students have exceptionally long (or very slowly read) pieces. Having taught writing workshop for ten years and hosting tons of publishing parties, I have found these modifications to work well with different groups of students.

A writer's reflection page where writers can think about what they were most successful with, what they struggled with and how they might improve themselves next time.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my product page! Please contact me with any questions or concerns and consider leaving feedback for those TPT credits!

Happy teaching,

Hannah
