Engage your ELA students with Pandora's Box Escape Room for short answer writing review! Your secondary ELA students will master the skills of RACE (RACCE--Restate, Answer, Cite, Cite, Explain) short answer writing while saving the world from the evil contents of Pandora's Box.
This escape room is easy to set up with clear directions and minimal cutting. With some simple photocopying and a few interoffice envelopes, your escape room will be ready to go. Simply print, use the provided decorations to set the scene, and watch your kids save the day by building a sealing an actual Pandora's Box (out of paper clue #6!).
To implement this escape room, arrange students into groups of approximately four students each. Give each group a detective file and hide the five clues in designated spots around the classroom.

- Evaluate short answer responses
- Write their own short answer response
- Choose the strongest evidence to support a response
