RTI: Fluency Sentences for Progress Monitoring Phonics Interventions

**This RTI bundle is ideal for using after my RTI literacy bundle {Set 2} which stops at reading phonics patterns in isolation AND ideal for using before reading oral fluency passages. I like to think of this set of progress monitoring probes as a bridge from reading words to reading passages. This RTI bundle covers more advanced phonics skills like silent e long vowels, consonant and long vowel blends and r-controlled vowels. The difference between Set 2 and this set, is that the words are not in isolation but embedded in fluency sentences where most of the words in each sentence contain the phonics pattern you will have been targeting in your phonics intervention. This set also includes fluency sentences for short vowel CVC words (something a little beyond NWF) and fluency sentences for sight words in context.

Have you been told that you must "do" RTI? Yet have been given no direction, no training, no intervention resources or no progress monitoring tools? Then this is the packet for you. This packet is not the interventions...I do however, have an RTI Reading Interventions Menu (free) HERE. This product will help you progress monitor those interventions. In RTI, it's simply not enough to provide interventions to struggling readers, we must have proof, with data points, to prove that the interventions are working (or in some cases, not working). No longer can teachers recommend a student for testing based on hunches, sixth senses and 35 years of classroom experience. This product helps a teacher accomplish the task of collecting the progress monitoring data points for interventions in the more advanced phonics skills of reading sight words in context, short vowels in context, silent e long vowels in context, consonant blends and vowel blends in context, and r-controlled vowels in context...the phonics skills in in the Reading: Foundational Skills strand of the Common Core, specifically standards RFS.3.a and RFS.4.c. This packet is also ideal for interventionists, tutors or home school teachers of first grade through fifth grader, any teacher, interventionist, special education teacher, tutor or home school that works with students reading at least one to two years below grade level, including students in the 6th, 7th or 8th grade reading at an 1st - 5th grade reading level.
