Renaissance Part 1 - Times of Change - Workbook Bundle (Grade 8 Social Studies)

This bundle focuses on the transition from the Middle Ages to Renaissance Europe. It has a 37 slide PowerPoint Presentation and 15 page Student Workbook that covers how Europeans lived in the Middle Ages and how the Black Death and other factors moved European society into a New Era. How did people live? What were their lives like? Who was in charge? The presentation looks at the impact the Black Death had on the beliefs and values of the people and how society changed. Learn about manor and town life, how religion played a role in society, the hierarchy for both society and the church, and how everything changed. It also includes the introduction of six Renaissance Personalities: Martin Luther, Christine de Pisan, Vasco da Gama, Nicolaus Copernicus, Fancois 1 King of France, and Leonardo da Vinci.

• pictures, from my time in Europe or fair use, that allow students to see different views and allow for greater understanding of the Medieval or Renaissance Culture.

This presentation and workbook have been made with the help and in-class use of the textbook "Worldviews - Contact and Change" (Chapter 1 - Grade 8 Alberta Social Studies) but can be used alone or with other available resources.
