What educators are saying

Awesome for Kinder. Very straight forward and fun to use. Thank you so much for posting this resource!
Great songs and poems to use with my Kindergarten class! I love how there is a black and white version for the students to colour.

Description

POEMS POEMS POEMS! This is a HUGE pack of JUST poems for every month of the school year and more!

***NEWLY UPDATED as of March 30/20! I have included a file in this pack with JPGs of each poem for easy access to upload to your secured Google Classroom/D2L homepage. Also included is an activity page for suggestions and ideas on what to do with the poems. Please note: this pack is for 1 (ONE) educator license. NOT TO BE SHARED WITH COLLEAGUES. ONLY POEMS ARE INCLUDED.***

Poems are so important for children! They teach rhyme, repetition, letters and sounds, directionality, and more! I introduce a new poem each week on Monday and students are encouraged to read the poem each morning to each other.

Here is what's included in this pack:

- over 90 poems (divided by month - at least 5 per month) in BOTH color and B&W

- complete printables and instructions for a Rhyme and Chime book for students to take home and read poems with their families

Here is what the poems in each month focus on:

- September: back to school, apples, safety, "I am special"

- October: autumn, pumpkins, Halloween, Thanksgiving, spiders

- November: leaves, fall/autumn, peace, scarecrows

- December: Santa, reindeer, trees, star

- January: new year, winter, snow, snowmen, penguins

- February: Valentine's Day, Groundhog Day, friendship

- March: wind, St. Patrick's Day, spring, kites

- April: Easter, spring, rain, planting

- May: Mother's Day, butterflies, caterpillars, rainbows, flowers

- June: water, summer, sunshine, Father's Day

*BONUS!* I also included 5 poems that teach students about counting (1:1 correspondence, subitizing, cardinality) as well as poems about the Winter Games, colors, Nursery Rhymes

(Every poem has the author's name printed under the title, if known. Many poems are common and well-known (public domain), the author is unknown or written by me.)
