What educators are saying

I loved this for música miércoles near Valentines day. I loved the variety of activities and it was a great time saver in the February doldrums :)
My students loved connecting the song with an activity and I found it helpful for them to connect with and personalize the material!

Description

This is a multi-faceted lesson that centers around letter-writing in Spanish, centered on two authentic songs in Spanish that students LOVE.

Students will work with the song Robarte un beso by Carlos Vives and Sebastian Yatra. After doing a lyrics/cloze activity to listen to the song and a reading activity with the music video, the class can read fake letters between each of the four couples shown in the video. (Printable letters to read individually, and letters to project and read as a class are provided. Novice and intermediate levels are provided, and files are editable.)

The students respond to questions about the letters, and then match the letters to the people in the video. This activity provides lots of comprehensible input the form of letter-writing!

Students can then work with the song Querido Tommy for an example of authentic letter-writing in Spanish, in the context of a romantic letter. This lesson includes a lyrics/cloze activity, and a short reading.

After working through both songs, Valentine's/Friendship cards are included for students to write their own cards.
