    Description

This product includes 60 pages worth of guided reading and introductory materials for Acts 1-5 of Romeo and Juliet! This download includes PDF files to ensure compatibility across devices, as well as answer keys for your convenience. (A version of this packet that includes a final test for a discounted download can be found here: Romeo and Juliet Guided Reading Packet (Acts 1-5) and Test Bundle.) This resource is also great for distance, online, or hybrid classrooms!

This series of packets for Acts 1-5 goes beyond basic question-and-answer style teaching strategies by reproducing several significant portions of the text for the purpose of guided translation and analysis practice. This method of introducing and evaluating the materials gives students the opportunity to practice and hone their skills in conducting text-depended analyses. Questions provide varying degrees of challenge designed to help students employ a range of higher-order thinking skills!

This can also be used with a "No Fear Shakespeare" version of the play; the "untranslated" selections from the text that appear in the packet could serve as a small, digestible introductions to Shakespeare's language. It is suitable for all levels of middle-school and high-school students, as adaptations in the presentation of the material can easily be made.
