SOLAR AND LUNAR ECLIPSE CRAFTS: HAT CRAFTS OF THE SUN, EARTH AND MOON IN COLOR AND BLACK AND WHITE
Are you looking for fun eclipse activities to engage young learners and help them better understand what goes on during an eclipse? This crafts pack is a must have! It contains three hat templates of the sun, Earth and moon, both in color and bw. These hats/ headbands could also be used throughout the rest of the year for other science lessons!
Kids will love making and wearing these hats for eclipse activities. A fun activity you could do with these hats is to use them for dramatic play/ role play. Three students are chosen to be the sun, Earth and moon respectively. They could act out how the Earth orbits the sun and also how the moon orbits the Earth. This is a great way to also emphasize what happens during an eclipse.
These hats are easy to assemble! After the kids have colored their hat, cut out and staple the strap (referred to as hat extension in resource) from one side. Place around the kids' head and adjust. Assemble the strap to the hat from the other side and let the kids have fun! If one strap is not enough, simply use two straps.
