What educators are saying

These packets were easy to prep to send home for summer practice before first grade. I have these activities prepped and ready to be sent home. I am offering a small treat for students who bring them back to me in August if they complete their work!
Parents LOVED this. I included this packet in my end-of-year gifts and it was a favorite. It was a great way to get students prepared for the next grade level! I look forward to using this resource for years to come.

DAILY TASKS

-------------------------

20 days are included and they are labeled Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc. If this curriculum is used on a Monday-Friday schedule, it will take them through the entire month.

If you print this pack front to back, it only requires two pieces of paper each day.

Primary Language Arts

This daily worksheet focuses on the exact kindergarten standards I target and review at the end of the school year. My goal for this pack is to solidify and practice skills so students are ready for first grade in the fall! Each day students complete phonics, reading fluency/comprehension and writing.

What is covered this month? CVC words, word families, sight words, reading short stories with comprehension questions, fill in the blank sentences, and writing a complete sentence using a picture word bank.

Primary Math

The daily kindergarten math page also focuses on specific standards we are working on at the end of the school year. Practicing these standards will ensure that students are ready for first grade!

The format and standards stay the same for the entire week to build students' confidence. This also means that parents don't have to give detailed instruction every single day helping distance learning be much less stressful on families.

If you're using these in the classroom, this also makes an effective and easy to use daily warm up/review.

What is covered this month? Writing numbers 1-20, ordering numbers, writing numbers in sequence (not always beginning at one) addition, subtraction, story problems, 3D solids, counting and identifying coins, and more than/less than.

Daily Reading Log

Students are asked to read, or be read to, for 20 minutes a day. Then they fill out their daily reading log. This incorporates reading, writing, comprehension, illustrating and so much more.

Students complete the three activity pages each day as shown above, and then there are three blank spots on their daily task pages for you to add additional tasks/activities (optional).

-------------------------------------------------

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL TASKS

-------------------------------------------------

I made the additional task and activity cards with both teachers and parents in mind! These are optional and parents can cut them out and glue them on to specific days as needed. It is a great visual and is very helpful so students can see what they are expected to do each day.

♦ Daily chores/home activities (parents will love these!)

♦ Additional school activities such as math facts, reading for 20 minutes, etc.

♦ Task cards that correlate with my Kindergarten Review Pack

♦ BONUS ACTIVITIES - including going on a walk in nature, a look and find hunt around the house for items, summer goal setting and more!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The format of these print and teach packs is similar to my kindergarten morning work packs. It is incredibly important that the format stays the exact same each day, and only the content changes.

The standards change each week, and for the entire week students are practicing the same skills. This brings continuity and structure to each lesson, while building their confidence.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
