Looking for editable second grade spelling lists? Here you'll find 37 phonics-based 2nd grade spelling word lists complete with a parent note. Ready to print and send right home with your students or just click and type to make any desired changes.
Each list is made up of a total of fourteen words. Twelve words follow the phonics pattern to be focused on that week. Ten are regular words, and two are challenge words, which I assign for bonus points. The other two words are sight words.

I have ordered the lists as I use them in my own classroom; however, they are not numbered. You may print and use them in any order you wish.
Words on each list are written from least to most challenging. You can easily shorten the list for students who need accommodations. (I simply tape a white piece of paper over the last few regular words before placing the list on the copier.)
I have also included a blank list template so you can create your own lists as necessary.
