Description
Use this sensation & perception lesson to guide your students through experiencing some of the most classic perceptual illusions in psychology. This includes a great TED talk with comprehension questions to start off the lesson, and the moves into four different stations to experience shape illusions, ambiguous figures, video examples such as the Ames room, and modern real-world applications of distortion in art and design. Finally, students are asked to think critically about their experiences and explain their learning with small group discussions and an exit ticket quick write.
All lessons include essential questions(s) and learning targets, an easy to follow agenda with suggested timings, clear directions, easy-to-print copies of handouts, engaging instructional strategies, and formative assessment exit tickets. Answer keys or rubrics are included where appropriate. If links are not working, try using a different browser (Chrome) or searching YouTube. If those still do not work, please email me.
I have updated to include potential discussion question answer key, as well as varying formats of PDF, jpg, and PowerPoint to help make the lesson more flexible for your platform and needs.
