Description

These sign language printables are great for teaching and assessing playtime words. There are parent handouts with visuals and explanations to teach each sign, which is perfect for getting the whole family involved.

What's Included

- Two versions of the interactive book The first version is for teaching. It shows the child how to make each sign. After practicing what is modeled, the child is then required to find the picture of the item that represents the sign. The second version is great for assessing while providing picture prompts. This version shows the child a picture of the item, and the student has to find the picture of the sign that represents that item.

- Cheat sheets with sign explanations - These cheat sheets provide you with a small picture of the sign along with a detailed description for how to make that sign. (Example: Ball – Cup your hands like they’re around a ball. Bring your hands to the center of your body with your fingertips touching. Your hands should look like you’re holding a ball.) These are great if you're working with unfamiliar signs and they are also a valuable resource to send home for parents.

- Parent Handout - There is one handout that informs the parent/guardian of what kind of sign language you were working on that day, provides a picture for three signs in that group, suggests activities that the parents can do to incorporate these signs in daily life/play, and there is a section for "notes from today's session". I like to attach the black and white flashcards and sign explanations with the parent letter. This makes parent communication a breeze!

- Flashcards in full color + black and white options - These flashcards are great for introducing and practicing signs. The black and white version is great to quickly print and send home with your students.

- Three printable worksheet activities for each sign - There are 3 print and go (black and white) activities. The activities instruct the child to 1) "Select the sign for _____" (when provided with three pictures). 2) "Draw a picture that represents this sign". The child is shown a sign and the student has to draw a picture to show what it means. 3) "Connect the sign to the picture it represents". The child is shown one row of pictures and one row of signs. The student has to draw a line connecting the matching pairs.

The variety of activities makes them perfect for different types of learners, while helping you individualize your therapy to suit your students' specific needs.
