Students will practice calculating simple interest and interest rates with this set of task cards. Getting students moving around the room while practicing interest calculations is a great way to keep them engaged in learning!

Task cards # 1- # 8

  • given the principal, rate and term- students calculate the interest earned or final balance on investment

Task cards #9-28

  • word problems where students will find the amount of interest, total balance, interest rate, or length of term.

The answer key is formatted on two task cards, along with a cover for the set of cards.

Print, laminate and assemble the task cards and answer key onto a binder ring with the included cover and you can easily use them for years to come!

Task cards are a very versatile resource and can be used as a whole group, small group, partners, as part of a math center, as homework, reteaching, and more!
