Description
This is a set of recording sheets to go along with a science experiment to investigate what foods snails prefer to eat. Students will observe the preferences of multiple snails when given the choice between two foods. This set includes tomatoes, lettuce, avocado, and spinach. This product includes data recording sheets in both color and black and white, as well as sheets to draw a model of the experiment and reflect on what was learned. Visuals allow non-readers to navigate the work easily. This makes a great science fair experiment and is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards.
NGSS Standards addressed include:
-K-LS1-1. Use observations to describe patterns of what plants and animals (including humans) need to survive.
-LS1.C: Organization for Matter and Energy Flow in Organisms: All animals need food in order to live and grow. They obtain their food from plants or from other animals. Plants need water and light to live and grow. (K-LS1-1)
-Analyzing and Interpreting Data: Use observations (firsthand or from media) to describe patterns in the natural world in order to answer scientific questions. (K-LS1-1)
-Patterns: Patterns in the natural and human designed world can be observed and used as evidence. (K-LS1-1)
