Solar Oven STEM Activity (Solar Cooker Earth Day Activity)

Use these 31 Pages of Solar Oven (Earth Day Solar Cooker) STEM Challenge to let your students work as engineers to design and build a solar oven and see how the sun’s energy can be used to cook their desired treat. Explain to them that this is like what some civil engineers do as their jobs.

An additional BONUS 10 Pages of The Design Process Worksheets and Rubrics are included to introduce the Engineering Design Process while doing this Solar Oven STEM/ STEAM activity or project. Students design, build, and test a Shoe Box Solar Oven using only the materials provided together with some constraints to make this activity more challenging. This is a great engaging activity for students or a group/ team enabling them to think critically and use their engineering and problem-solving skills.
