Description
Close Reading: Spring- This 58 page product contains 10 spring-themed non-fiction close reading passages with evidence-based questioning sheets to go with each. Each passage comes in 2 different formats: whole page and half page with questions. This makes them great for differentiation! Can be used as a whole group lesson or in small group reading. The articles are about the following topics:
-Springtime
-Sheep
-Chicks
-Bunnies
-Earthworms
-Turtles
-Rain
-Flower History
-Life Cycle of a Frog
-Life Cycle of a Butterfly
Weekly lesson ideas, helpful anchor charts, and open-ended worksheets (could be used with any passage) are also included.
I introduce the product with examples of how I use the articles in my personal classroom.
This packet is aligned with the Common Core, specifically the following standard:
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.R.1 Read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and to make logical inferences from it; cite specific textual evidence when writing or speaking to support conclusions drawn from the text.
