    Description

States of Matter Bundle // Posters, Worksheets and Activities and more

PLEASE NOTE: most products come only in A4 size, and while aimed towards the Australian Curriculum, they can be still be used to support any science program.

This bundle includes three products that all help children develop an understanding of states of matter.

The products in this bundle include:

    2) Changing States of Matter // Melting Points Posters

These resources can support both year/grade 1 and year/grade 3 and Year 5 chemical science understandings for Australian Teachers.

These posters allow students to identify the various melting points of substances required to change an objects state of matter from solid to liquid.

These posters can also be used as a visual prompt to discuss different ways that materials can change when heated.

They link directly to both the Year 1 and Year 3 Australian Curriculum Science Strand – Chemical Science

    Year 1 Chemical Science:

'Everyday materials can be physically changed in a variety of ways'.

    • exploring how materials change when warmed

    Year 3 Chemical science strand,

'A change of state between solid and liquid can be caused by adding or removing heat'.

    • Investigating how liquids and solids respond to changes in temperature, for example water changing to ice, or melting chocolate.
    • Exploring how changes from solid to liquid and liquid to solid can help us recycle materials.

    Year 5 Chemical Science:

'Solids, liquids and gases have different observable properties and behave in different ways'.

    • recognising that substances exist in different states depending on the temperature

The posters in this pack can be used for:

    • Classroom display throughout your science topic,
    • Science center displays
    • Whole or small group discussions
    • As a visual reference when talking about changing states of matter from a solid to a liquid.

    3) Changing States of Matter Posters and Printable

These printables allow students to predict or investigate how heating or cooling can change an objects state of matter from solid, liquid and gas.

The states of matter worksheets included in this pack link directly with the Australian curriculum chemical science strand and can be suitable for both year 1 and Year 3 - simply modify the amount of scaffolding or the level of support/information provided.

The changing states of matter printables can be used for:

    • Quick revision of how an objects state of matter can change when adding or removing heat.

    • Mini assessment (present work in a test like situation).

The pack also includes picture cards that would be great for a mat session where students mix and match the states of matter and cooling cards. They use these cards to create their own 'states of matter sums' - allowing them to predict how different materials/objects can change their state of matter depending on how it is heated or cooled.

This changing states of matter pack includes:

    • Changing States of matter picture cards – sure the picture cards (and task card) for students to create their won states of matter sums (adding or removing heat).

    • States of Matter Worksheets: Five different worksheets/printables are included to allow students to identify how a change in state of matter can occur when adding or removing heat.

For Australian teachers, this pack can support delivery of teaching programs that link to the Chemical Strand for the Australian Curriculum (heating and cooling changes to states of matter - year / grade 1 and year / grade 3).

States of Matter Poster Set // classroom charts, solid, liquid and gas picture sorting cards and moving molecules experiment!

This Pack is the only pack that includes both standard US and Australian A4 files.

These States of Matter (solid, liquid and gas) posters and picture sort activities are specifically designed for early childhood aged children and are a great visual resource to your Science centre or to use when introducing states of matter.

This poster pack is intended to support your chemical and physical science unit when learning about the three different states of matter - solids, liquids and gases.

    This pack includes:

    • States of matter posters – solid, liquid, gas (two versions of each one with cute clip art graphics, the other realistic photographic images). Posters can be enlarged to A3 size without loosing picture quality.

    • States of Matter vocabulary cards: solid, liquid, gas and matter - great to use when brainstorming what children know, or to use as headings when sorting different states of matter.

    • Heating, cooling, vaporisation / vaporisation and condensation, solid, liquid and gas mini picture cards - great visual resource to show children how different physical changes can affect the state of matter of a substance.

    • States of matter picture sort activities: three different versions to choose from, including a write the room/treasure hunt style from) depending on teaching preference or developmental level of children. The three different versions also allow you to change your delivery of teaching from to year to year to avoid repetition.

    • Moving Molecules Printables: Three different versions to suit teaching preferences. In these activities children draw what the molecules look like within each state of matter. Also includes molecule movement cards – an interactive way to get children to understand how molecules move.

    • Moving Molecules experiment recording sheet: A fun yet simple experiment recording sheet to effectively show how liquid molecules can move when they are heated and cooled.

For Australian teachers, this pack also comes in standard A4 size and can support delivery of teaching programs that link to the Chemical Strand for the Australian Curriculum (heating and cooling changes to states of matter - year / grade 1 and year / grade 3).
