Description

Help your students practice gram-to-gram stoichiometry problems with this fun, creative project! This assignment includes a murder mystery scenario that involves four potential culprits. Students will use stoichiometry to "investigate" the scene of the crime and determine which suspect is guilty. Afterwards, students can use their stoichiometry data to create a criminal report.

The first pages provide information about the murder, as well as information about each criminal and the chemicals they left behind. Students will use stoichiometry to determine which chemicals were used in the crime, as well as which suspect is the murderer. Two versions of the assignment are included: one version with "clues" provided to guide students, and one version without clues for more advanced students.

The final part of the assignment involves writing a short report of the crime, detailing which suspect is guilty, along with proof. A full, detailed ANSWER KEY is also included!

Great way to practice stoichiometry in any chemistry or physical science classroom!
