Description

Your students will love practicing their number sense and subitizing skills with the classic partner game of "War".

*This subitizing set includes 124 cards with numbers from 0-20 represented in different ways.

*The subitizing pictures included on the cards are: ten frames, dominoes, dice, tally marks, numerals, and fingers.

To Play: Divide the cards evenly between two players. Keep cards face down in a stack in front of each player. Players turn over their top card at the same time and see who has the higher number. Whoever’s number is the highest, takes both cards and puts it in their “win” pile. Continue playing until all cards have been used. The player with the most cards in their “win” pile is the winner!

Note: Use all cards from 0-20 for more advanced students, or only use 0-10 for early learners.

Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
Identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group, e.g., by using matching and counting strategies.
