My students loved this activity! I did have some concerned parents, but once explained the lesson they loved it! I do teach 5th grade and this is the first time they understood the law of supply and demand so quickly.
This activity was a HUGE hit! My middle school students were engaged and excited. It really helped them grasp the concepts of supply and demand. I started with the auction. Then, I was able to refer back to the auction when we were taking notes and it helped them to make the connections.

This is a great lesson to introduce Supply and Demand!
I use this with my middle school students year after year. It is an engaging lesson using two things they love - candy and soda. By the end of this lesson they really have an understanding of the Laws of Supply and Demand and how they work. They experience it for themselves in this lesson.
