Who doesn’t love apples?! This activity engages students to design their own apple tree and challenges students to balance as many apples on their apple trees. Students will go through the Engineering Design Process and use common materials around them.

Thanksgiving STEM Activity 4: Build a Turkey Retreat STEM Challenge 

Quick, hide the turkey! Students are challenged to design a safe hiding space for a turkey this November. Students will listen to a turkey read aloud and go through the Engineering Design Process.

Thanksgiving STEM Activity 5: Thanksgiving STEAM Challenge Turkey Art

This challenge adds the A for art! Your students will need to be creative & let their minds soar. Challenge them to think outside the box to disguise a turkey! Even incorporate writing with a creative story and target the Arts in STEAM. I love seeing the creativity and ideas!!!

HOW I USE THIS AS A STEM TEACHER:

I teach 360 students each week in grades K through 4th, so I created these Thanksgiving themed stem activities to be able to easily set up, use reusable materials, and need low copying! I can adjust response sheets and challenges to meet each grade level. I need something quick and easy for me, yet engaging and challenging for my students!
