Description
Give your classes the critical thinking tools and frameworks they need to think through big, complicated issues, as well as training them to reflect on their own thinking patterns and behaviours!
Design Sprints are creative problem-solving tools for moving your student’s thinking forward a lot in a small amount of time (1-2 hours) by taking them through a series of timed brainstorming, feedback, and iteration sessions. The logic behind them is that it’s better to test and figure out all the things that don’t work as soon as possible, and to stop your students (as the problem solvers) from getting too attached to their ‘first draft’ ideas that they should be letting go of and updating.
This is a Design Sprint Packet, and is meant to be a low cost and plug-n-play resource. With that in mind, it has been designed for students to complete on the pages themselves, without the need for students (or teachers!) to buy anything else. No more expensive post it notes and markers! The idea is that each participant just needs a printed copy of the packet and something to write with and they'll be good to go!
The Package Includes:
- An Explanation of the Design Process
- An overview of the Design Sprints
- A 9-Step Facilitation Guide
- A Pre-Sprint Background Research handout for students to complete before the sprint.
- The 9 Step Design Sprint (60 minutes of activity, plus explanations)
- Blank editable templates for you to print off immediately or update as you need.
Design sprints are perfect for getting your classes to creatively take their thinking deeper and get them more engaged in the solutions they come up with to whatever issue you have them try to solve.
Get your classes thinking, get them problem solving!
