    Reading comprehension printable quiz in two versions with 10 multiple choice questions and answer key -works with both versions of the story.(Editable) Also comes in an editable self-checking Google Form with answers scrambled.

    Unique vocabulary puzzle that relates to the story but is challenging and fun to solve. This can be printed for a hands-on activity or completely digitally where students move the puzzle pieces in Google Slides.

    Close reading drawing & writing activity where students use text-based descriptions to recreate the inside or outside of the Usher mansion and write a paragraph using quotes from the text to explain their choices. A house template is provided along with examples and a rubric for grading it. Students can also complete this digitally.

    ► Task for evaluating author's choices

    Research on a real-world issue related to the story.

    Hands-on plot activity for categorizing exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution - with answer key. Can be used as a worksheet if you do not want students cutting and pasting. Students move pieces for the interactive digital version into the correct places on the plot pyramid.

    Viewing guide for the 1960 movie starring Vincent Price is included if you choose to watch it along with a comparison/contrast activity for print and non-print texts.
