The Poisoner's Handbook By Deborah Blum: A 10 Day Literature Unit

This is a 10 day unit designed around Deborah Blum's book, The Poisoner's Handbook. It incorporates cooperative learning strategies, such as jigsawing and gallery walks, and reading comprehension and vocabulary strategies, such as word detective, read and say something, and picture mapping. A student choice board, or think-tac-toe board, is provided for further research/extensions in other subject area connections. Rubrics, links, handouts, discussion questions, content frame, and journal prompts are all provided. Great unit for a chemistry or forensics class.
