Description
Part of a Bundle This two or three-day engaging, creative lesson focuses on costume design, the rationale for teaching it and its history. The lesson gives students an opportunity to work cooperatively, solve problems creatively and learn at the same time! Created for students in grades 6 to 8, the product could be used for a one day exploration of the subject, skipping day two and three. This lesson seems straight forward at first, but wait until day two when students work in small groups and create a costume!
Note: You will need a lot of newspapers to do this. And I mean a. lot!!
Need something for a substitute?
Note: Not only do I provide you with the lessons and information, but I also share the questions I ask students and give you the time allotments for each step of the process.
Students will learn about:
- The History of Costume Design
- The Rationale for Teaching Costume Design
- Teacher's Script--what I say and how I say it!
- Costumes Notes for Students
- Procedure
- Materials List
- A Warm-Up—engaging and creative
- Two Assignments--one of designing and one cooperative learning
