"Old Town Road" Rhythm Stick Activity

Rhythm stick activity using "Old Town Road," the number 1 song on the hot 100 Billboard charts for weeks in the Summer of 2019. I created this activity for my 3rd and 4th grade students because they would not stop singing this song the last few weeks of school.

Teach this simple routine to your students. Even includes standards. Have FUN in your elementary music classroom!!

Song 3:

"Find Your Way Back" Rhythm Stick Activity

Another great rhythm stick routine for the elementary music class! Use the motivational and upbeat song by Beyoncé to get students excited about your music class. This routine is designed to be used with her song, "Find Your Way Back," from her latest album The Lion King: The Gift.

Students will enjoy learning the routine while also using Higher Order Thinking Skills to discover that all music has form. They will change movements with each section and repeat those movements when sections repeat. This encourages them to listen and recognize the different sections.
