TikTok Music in Music Class!

This Google Slides presentation uses TikTok famous songs to explore these NAfME Essential Questions:

• How do musicians generate creative ideas? (NAfME Music Standard MU:Cr2.1)
• How do performers interpret musical works? (NAfME Music Standard MU:Pr4.3)
• How do individuals choose music to experience? (NAfME Music Standard MU:Re7.1)
• How do the other arts, other disciplines, contexts, and daily life inform creating, performing, responding to music? (NAfME Music Standard MU:Cn11.0)

Using songs like "The Wellerman", "Blinding Lights" (The Weeknd - instrumental), "Castaways" (Backyardigans), "Iko Iko" (Justin Wellington) and "Rasputin" (Boney M), kids explore dance tutorials, singing, dancing, remixes and even Russian Deadpool performances! It explores the idea of using music as a career or hobby and how songs can become viral with the right dance or groove! It also introduces students to the concept of making content based on music you love, and the many forms that can look like before finally asking "What will you do with your favorite music?"
