What educators are saying

A great visual representation of each transformation. A good resource to refer to when working with each type.
We used these as "Cheat Sheets" for our notebook to remember how to use the different transformations. These worked great.

Description

Help students learn about translating, reflecting, rotating, and dilating figures on the coordinate plane with these six reference sheets. The four types of transformations are shown with an example and instructions for completing the transformation.

Six posters are included:

  • Translate
  • Reflect
  • Rotate
  • Dilate
  • Congruent
  • Similar

These are great to hang on the wall for references.

Two versions are included of the set: A colorful version and black ink only version. The fonts are slightly different, but the content is the same.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Verify experimentally the properties of rotations, reflections, and translations:
Lines are taken to lines, and line segments to line segments of the same length.
Angles are taken to angles of the same measure.
Parallel lines are taken to parallel lines.
Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them.
