Description

"I'm A Triangle" is a 4 1/2 minute, karaoke style video, that students can sing along with. It would make a good introduction to, or review, for classifying triangles. The song covers classifying triangles by their sides and angles. The tune and music are done in a "blues" style.

The video integrates music, grammar, reading, and animation. You can use it as daily practice, part of a lesson, "triangle" review, PE warmup, clean-up song, or just for fun.

Also included in the file is a PDF handout with a triangle coloring activity that I use as a "Problem of the Day." There is also a copy of the lyrics that can be cut out and used as notes, or a "foldable" for an Interactive Journal.

The mp4 video and PDF file will download in a zipped folder.

The video can be played on an interactive whiteboard, computer monitor, iPod, iPad, etc.

The preview above is at a lower quality than the actual video due to size requirements.

Special note: Windows Media Player needs a free codec pack installed to play mp4 files. I highly recommend the free VLC media player.

I hope you enjoy!

Classify two-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines, or the presence or absence of angles of a specified size. Recognize right triangles as a category, and identify right triangles.
Understand that attributes belonging to a category of two-dimensional figures also belong to all subcategories of that category. For example, all rectangles have four right angles and squares are rectangles, so all squares have four right angles.
Classify two-dimensional figures in a hierarchy based on properties.
