Description

This product includes a syllabus and course plan as well as an example platt (from A Midsummer Nights Dream) and example cue-script (Egeus).

The recommended class textbook is Patrick Tucker's Secrets of Acting Shakespeare.

What is the Unrehearsed Cue-Script Method of Performing Shakespeare?

It is based on how Shakespeare and his contemporaries would have performed their plays with little to no rehearsal (except for dances, fights, and "special effects"). Shakespeare's actors did not receive a full script. Instead, they received a cue-script, which consisted of just their lines and the last few words of their cue. This technique shows actors how to use the text, punctuation, and other clues that are in the script to bring these plays to life!

I have performed, taught, and directed the Unrehearsed Cue-Script Method for almost 20 years. I am also the Co-Founder and Former Artistic Director of The New Renaissance Theatre Company, which still performs this style of Shakespeare every year.

Everything is in Word format and I've also put in suggested parts in the syllabus for you to fill in with your own info in red text.
