What educators are saying

This helped my students get practice on identifying valence electrons and they were able to complete the activity without any issues.
Great review for my students. Easy to use and a great tool to have with the lesson. Students found it challenging yet learned a lot from it.

Description

Scavenger hunts are a great way to get students up and collaborating! This resource will have students practice identifying elements by looking at the number of valence electrons and energy levels on a Bohr Model.

This download includes 8 stations - each station is numbered, a Bohr Model with labeled valence electrons, and an answer on the top right-hand corner.

Students will record their answers on their worksheet and will be walking around the room with this scavenger hunt. This allows the teacher to observe group/partner collaboration and gives the teacher time to walk around and question students on their thinking.

This activity covers the science readiness TEKS 8.5 B and C where the students are identifying the valence electrons and interpreting the Periodic Table to determine the element that is represented in the Bohr Model.
