    Description

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO MAKE VOCABULARY ENGAGING AND EFFECTIVE! Ready to teach vocabulary with a purpose? Tired of being tied to boring, rigid, and uninspiring vocabulary programs or workbooks? This flexible vocabulary activities bundle has everything you need to transform your vocabulary instruction, making sure it's grounded in learning standards and the literacy heartbeat of your classroom.

    VOCABULARY ACTIVITIES BUNDLE CONTENTS

(Please see the resources included for specific lists, further details, and more preview images.)

    • Games for reviewing vocabulary words, fun days, sub plans, etcetera (*can be used with any word list!)
    • Activities for getting students to engage in divergent, creative thinking (these will ensure students don't forget your words and *can be used with any word list!)
    • Graphic organizers for helping students take notes, make associations, and elevate their overall thinking about vocabulary words (*can be used with any word list!)
    • Mini lessons to use as a vocabulary toolbox so that students have the tools they need to determine the meaning of unknown words using reference materials, context clues, and word parts (can be taught when convenient). Tier 2 words are included with these lessons so that you have pre-made material to model the skills.
    • Specific word lists to use when you are not in the middle of a literature unit (as words from text usually take center stage at this time). These are words students will see while reading and want to use while writing! They are also helpful for test-prep. For these bell-ringer style units, the word lists are set. You can find a list of the specific word lists by viewing the Tier 2 unit resource descriptions.
    • Vocabulary writing activities to encourage students to use new words in a variety of types of writing! (A short word list is included, but materials are editable, so you can change the words as needed.)
    • Bonus file: An editable pacing guide! This will give you an idea of my best approaches for weaving vocabulary into an ELA curriculum, which means I also share what reading, writing, and grammar units are happening during each quarter.

    IMPORTANT QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

    ***Are word lists included?

The tier 2 units include word lists! The other activities can be used with any words you would like! I truly believe the best vocabulary instruction does not stem from the words you select but from the purpose-driven instruction you design for your students. Currently, this unit has 5 tier 2 word lists, but as I create more, I will be adding them to this bundle, which means you will receive them at no additional cost.

    Are these digital or print?

Please see individual resource descriptions regarding which are digital and which are print. At this time, I've converted the resources I feel would work well digitally into a digital format. The resources that are still only available as print are in that format because I believe some of the effectiveness would be lost if they were converted to digital format. As part of this bundle, you will receive all future updates to resources as they become available digitally.

    Are these editable?

Many are, but please see individual resource descriptions regarding which are editable. As part of this bundle, you will receive all future updates to resources as they become available in editable format.
