Description

“Wolf Tracker” helps students review the instruments from "Peter and the Wolf and their families with a fun, board-game style game. This is a Smart Notebook Game. This game is great for a sub, too, especially with the YouTube link I have included on the second slide. Now you or your sub can click on the YouTube link, let ME do the talking, and then play the game. Your sub doesn't even need to know anything about music! Click here to watch the Wolf Tracker mini-lesson!

This game includes two types of questions: 1. multiple choice naming the instrument by looking at its picture; 2. multiple choice naming the family of the pictured instrument.

Students must name instruments and orchestra families to track down the wolf and rescue the duck. See the preview for instructions on playing the game. Each team has a character from "Peter and the Wolf" as their token to advance through the game. Kids will love advancing their own token and clicking on the disappearing animals to reveal the answers!

Instruments included in this game are:
Woodwinds - flute (bird), clarinet (cat), oboe (duck), bassoon (grandfather)
Brass - French horn (wolf)
Strings - violin (Peter)
Percussion - timpani (the hunters) *The hunter is depicted by a man hiding in leaves to avoid any sensitive issues.

There are review pages for each family of instruments.

This game takes approximately one 30 minute class. This lesson would be most appropriate and enjoyable for Pre-K to 3rd grade.
