Description

Ready to take your littles on a virtual field trip? We're Going on a Lion Hunt! After reading Library Lion, Lion Lessons, or even In Like a Lion Out Like a Lamb -- project this PowerPoint or PDF game and get ready to play along! Your students will magically transform into kid photographers who are hoping to catch a snapshot of a real lion -- a BIIIIGGGGGG one, of course! They have quite a journey ahead...but they'll bravely proceed as my photos lead you (and them!) through a series of fun movements. (Check out my thumbnails and preview for more details.) This game resource includes a quick, paper-and-pencil, sequencing activity that can be used to calm your students back down afterward, perhaps as they're waiting for book exchange! NEW for 2023 -- I've also included a another easy activity sheet -- AND a note home to act as a bit of library advocacy. :)

What You'll Get:

- a PowerPoint and a PDF of the custom photo slides with the words to the lion hunt chant written on each one.

- a follow-up sequencing activity.

- a drawing/coloring page ("Take a selfie" with the lion.)

- a library advocacy note explaining your "pretend field trip!"

Notes:

-- Library Lion was written by Michelle Knudsen. (Be sure to catch the free presentation of Library Lion through the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's website, "Storyline Online.")

-- Lion Lessons was written by Jon Agee. (Kids LOVE to act this one out!)

-- In Like a Lion Out Like a Lion was written by Marion Dane Bauer. (Happy Cultivated on YouTube does a great job reading it -- and it is PERFECT to kick off the month of March!)
