Where my Family is From Research Project Bundle (English & Spanish Versions)

This Where my Family is From Research Project should take your class at least one week to complete.

Students will specifically research a town where their family members originated from (there may be multiple towns but they must choose just one to research for this assignment).

Students choose if they wish to complete this project as a slideshow presentation or a poster.

The instructions and rubric are together on a 2-page document. Print it 2-sided. Your students use this document to create their project because it lists what information to include on each slide.

There is a spot for a teacher signature so you can check off that they have been working. You can even set deadlines for when they have to have a certain amount of slides complete. This will help your students stay on track and not put off the project until the last minute.

GRADING:
The teacher uses the rubric from the instruction sheet to grade as the students present - this means no taking work home! Simply check off their rubric as you watch the presentation.

OPTION: If a student does not want to present they will lose the 5 points for presenting. This allows for students to still pass the assignment if they are not comfortable speaking in front of others. Great way to accomodate varying student needs.

DIFFERENTIATION:
There are two versions included- basic & advanced.

LEVEL:
This can be used for a wide range of ages- 7th grade- 12th grade. The basic and advanced version allows you to differentiate.

At least one week (students need time to research and create their slideshow for 2-3 days and then you will need to time for the actual presentations)
